Good but not Great for My Requirements / Cary, CA8/26/2008 I need a camera that can take close range pictures of small items & can show the color/faceting of gemstones. I tried 2 Fuj''s(including this one)+ a 8mp 12x zoom Kodak. This Fuji has some great features & is easy to use, but the color came out better on the Kodak. There''s something about the color in this camera that makes it just slightly gray-not vivid enough for my purposes. Also the FinePix software needs some work. It freezes/errors out a lot) & results are not as good as my other software.
Magnificient! Go for it... / Mike, TX7/18/2008 I added a 2 Gb SD memory card which gave a capacity of 795 hi-res pictures. The photographs taken at all settings of the telephoto lens have very sharp detail and brilliant colors! I would recommend this camera for no less than an "Advanced Amateur" as the complexity would probably overwhelm the novice. But hey! One can learn & grow with the features. I mention this because a novice might not have a pleasant experience and think the camera is at fault. Usulay, it''s me that messed up the shot!
