You'd better have a stud to screw this thing into the wall. I didn't because where the TV was to be mounted, a stud wasn't an option. I have a new house, of good quality. I have put drywall brackets into my walls with no problem. The set that this thing came with pushed right through my walls! And I was very careful putting them in. Once that happened, I had two holes in my wall and the TV still had to go there. I bought some major EPOXY glue and cemented that thing to the wall. The TV is still up there and now it is nice, but I am concerned that one day the thing will fall off. It really irritated me.
